"We switched to State Farm earlier this year and the people in this office are friendly and professional and were patient while going through all the various products. However, dealing with State Farm at a corporate level for claims is another story. They failed to reach out to the other insured (at fault) party for something like 6 weeks which delayed the process of us receiving our deductible back. On top of that, when the claim was initiated I opted in to receive any payment electronically, but when State Farm finally issue our deductible refund it was sent as a physical check. I called and was told it is because there are two people on the policy; would have been nice to have known that in the first place so we could have confirmed if we still wanted electronic payment or at least been made aware our choice wouldn't be honored. Overall, I feel we have good coverage (home, auto, life) with State Farm, but from a claims standpoint - especially when you aren't the ones at fault - this was the most frustrating experience we have had with an insurance company. We all like to hope we never have an insurance claim, but most of us will at some point and it doesn't help that an already stressful situation is made worse by the company's process. For me it's 50/50 if we will stick with them based on this experience."
